New solar system delivering 799 kWp to the grid

At the end of June 2020, PBPSA member HakaGerodur was able to put its new solar system into operation at the plant in Benken, St. Galen, Switzerland.  2,350 latest generation Photovoltaic (PV) modules have been installed and deliver an output of 799 kWp. Solar cells, also called photovoltaic cells, convert sunlight directly into electricity.

With the planned annual energy saving of approx. 740,000 kWh, the annual savings is the equivalent of the consumption of 170 four-person households.

HakaGerodur uses more than 3/4 of its total energy consumption for production processes. As a result, HakaGerodur's range of piping systems (including those made from Polybutene-1) in addition to its ecological geothermal probes are produced even more resource-efficiently!
