Introducing Polybutene-1 in Piping Systems

Large Scale

Universal System

In building technology today, plastic piping systems are being used more extensively in large projects. The advantages of plastic far outweigh those of metal, especially in complex applications. Complete piping systems are generally installed using pipes with diameters from 10 mm to 225 mm. Both pipes and fittings can be produced from Polybutene-1

Polybutene-1 provides the following advantages:

• safe jointing technologies
• flexibility in planning and implementation
• physical and chemical material properties (corrosion)
• hygienic and non-toxic
• lightweight and manageable
• flexible installation, also in bends
• one material from the entry point to the last tapping point

Application areas:

Polybutene-1 piping systems are being used in many application areas:

• hot and cold water supply systems
• flow systems
• vacuum systems
• grey water and rainwater systems
• medicinal gas lines
• heating distribution
• district heating lines
• thermal water systems
• process water lines

With working pressures of up to 16 bar and working temperatures of up to 95°C, Polybutene-1 piping systems offer a very broad range of applicational opportunities in addition to their use in residential buildings, for instance:

• hospitals, homes for the elderly, schools
• sewage plants
• sports facilities (football stadiums, gymnasiums)
• shopping centers, office buildings
• hotels
• thermal baths, health resorts
• airports, train stations
• district heating
